Distinctive Reflections
PianoD has a particular affinity for seeking out exceptional and collectible mirrors: functional pieces that are able to amplify the environment and transform an atmosphere as well as preserve the traces of time. Brass frames evoke the elegance of Italian decorative arts of the 1940s and 1950s, whilst finely carved dark wood enriched with botanical motifs tell the story of the enduring value of artisanal craftsmanship. In a Tuscan residence, different shaped mirrors have been hung in a refined marble where they dialogue with the warm veining of the stone, reflecting and increasing the luminosity. Engraved details, oxidisations and small imperfections acquired over time become precious traces of the past, a Vance between material, light and memory.
