PianoD’s selection is meticulous and refined, the result of a dedicated research into Italian andEuropean modern design with a curatorial eye that is attentive to the quality, history and design valueof each piece.
Every object is chosen for its ability to tell the story of a particular era, designer, design culture and itsparticular way of interpreting the domestic space. Once selected, each piece undergoes a carefulprocess of restoration and where it is necessary thoughtful creative intervention such as a choice ofcolours , fabrics and materials that are able to enhance the pieces character.
The entire process of each intervention into the finished product is overseen by PianoD, who coordinateeach phase of the restoration and creative reinterpretation so that the end result is true to the history,quality and value of the piece.
For this reason we entrust this work to a network of specialist artisans, chosen for the excellence oftheir skills, the quality of their materials they use and their deep knowledge of traditional techniques.We collaborate with master craftsmen and highly qualified restorers on each material with sensitivityand precision, preserving each pieces characteristics and authenticity.
From wood to textiles, ceramics, glass, metals, and polymers as well as specialist electrical work, everyintervention is carried out with care and respect for the history and formal integrity of the object. This process gives each piece a new life whilst giving value to it’s uniqueness so that it is ready toharmoniously fit into contemporary interiors.
